This is my first true grow. I started with LC purchased online. Grew it out on grain in quart jars then transfered to bulk pellets I pasturized last weekend. 108c51ba4d838308e36e18981f1c6d3a.jpg048b772e148ea86340f0ffedab3f83e4.jpg4fe882b008311b0b03e2c5ed102f1b5f.jpg7965a04f8a5f155f7a69241aa74ed977.jpg

As this will be my first grow I am trying to figure out how I will fruit my blocks. I have purchased a large tub identical to my SAB and was thinking of getting fancy with a ultra sonic humidifier I own.

What should I do for my first fruiting?

Oysters are super easy. They love lots of air and are forgiving to a certain degree on less than optimal humidity. I would not recommend  confining them in a tub like you see the psilocybe growers doing. Not saying my way is the best practice, But I grow oysters in the garage with a a few heavy misting a day. I give blocks away as gifts and my friends fruit them on their kitchen counter with minimal care and they do awesome. If you smother them with love, they tend to stunt their growth producing short stem with even smaller caps. After dense colonization, soaking the the block in cool water for about a day will be more beneficial than any fancy set will get you. If you have an ultrasonic then put your soaked bag on a shelf with the humidifier nearby, cut some slits in the bag and let them do their thing. Soak and repeat. Mist them when you check on then as long as it not every five minutes. Oh yeah and I almost forgot, wait to start the fruiting process after you see the plastic start pulling away from the blocks. Should be past white and starting to dull in color.

That sounds like a good plan. I will do that.

Always the BEST when you harvest your block, it's VICTORY!  Nice Job!

Regarding your harvest issues, and I say this for the future of your projects, EASE up on opening the block that much(No judgement... just Analysis), a few slices here and there is all you need and your block won't dry out(too fast).  You will be able to get 3-5 flushes NO problem with a block that Size.  As you stated though, the process WORKS and IT sure does.  I do supplemented blocks(sterilized) with a HIGH success Rate in the 5-6 pound range in a SAB... not the easiest and a bit cumbersome in a Big Tote, but once you get it, ALL worth it in the end... Results.  All that being Said, SUCCESS... None the Less.  Nice Work and experiments are how we Perfect our Craft.

Yeah I think I jumped the gun on this one. My other 2 bags are looking more populated. I wanted some for Thanksgiving gravy so I got what I got.06c9f10c70a2133c4a70d4f17bf5b518.jpg
