Prepping sub today to kick of the season with some Golden Teachers. These were my first grow attempt and I only got 9-10 g out of that first try so I'm hoping to break my old record here.
I will snap some pics along the way and update later.
Grow on now.....git!

I was just reading through your edibles and medicinal thread. I want to try out some of those this year too.
Oddly enough. This here grow is gonna be from a freebie syringe that's been in the fridge for about 8 months. But after these first cubes I was hoping to focus on some Tampanensis and a couple different pans.

The Tamps were a great experience from a complete mistake... that's probably why I love them the most. I just did a Tamp LC to LC to expand on to do some stone only jars, I'm winding down on the Active fruits and have been focusing on Edible Blocks lately(My Passion and or Addiction). (Always) Plans for the winter...but just enjoying these Pan trays these Days, loaded On liberty haze... Work in progress...

Donor jars.

Last year I used some buckets to mix coir and verm and they always ended up on my deck getting strange looks from family and such....like "why are there always dirty buckets on your deck?" So I'm trying to streamline my process. I've started using coffee cans to soak grains, hydrate coir, store supplies. There are already dozens of them all over the place filled with screws and misc debri. So if I forget a coffee can of grain on the counter it doesn't get a 2nd look.
Ok. Blah blah blah. I tend to be a rambling stoner.
So. 2 shoe boxes required half a brick of coir. Mine are 450g blocks and there was quite a bit left over. Tried a new route to split the brick. Worked pretty good using a wood chisel.

Wiped out all my bins, measuring cups, coffee cans, and tools with rubbing alcohol. And here we go. I used 6 cups boiling water to the 225g coir. Added 1/4 cup used coffee grains and 1 cup verm on top after water is added. Wait 10 minutes and break up the coir block and then put the cover back on for an hour. I really had to squeeze to get a few drops outta it. Could use maybe 1/2 cup more water.

Here's sub prep Part Deux.
I've been told pasturizing is not needed with coir. But it's pretty easy in my oven and my experiences with trich seem to have been in the projects I didn't pastuerize So Im a bit biased. It's a few extra hrs thrown in for a little less chance of contamination.
So straight from boiling coffee can and into the fire-y oven.

3 hours at 170deg and then let it cool while I ran some errands. Most of the time I do this at night and just let it cool over night in the oven.
Finally after dinner it's cool and time to shower and get into my surgery scrubs, baseball cap for a hair net, gloves, and mask, and time to wrap up. Everything gets wiped down again with rubbing alcohol including my gloves and freshly showered arms.
I wiped down my liner and added the spawn. My preffered tool is a sterilized butter knife. In the 9er tek the jars were added whole and covered but I chop mine up like any other grain.

Broke up all the chunks and mixed by hand and then added a thin layer to cover the exposed grains and then wrapped them up and punch a few holes covered in micropore tape to breathe and we will check them on the 20th.

Pretty long winded post..... But did I mention I've been stuck at home for a week and I'm really bored?

Pasteurization isn't required with Coir, but you used Coffee grounds so it will be necessary. You can just hydrate Coco on it's own with Hot tap water(to expand quicker, I'm sure Cold works all the same) and use as is, or Add Verm and Gypsum as is. No boiling water, NO Nada with CVG. Once you add spent grounds or Manure, Worm castings, etc... it's proper pasteurization or usually... BUST!

Yeah I like to add coffee.
I like coffee.
Not sure if there's a correlation but I've found that a good cup of coffee mid peak really kicks my trip into overdrive.
So I use it grow the shrooms too.
And I'm a big fan of oven pastuerizing.

If it works for you(Oven Pasteurization), I'm a fan of any technique that produces end results.

I always drink a cup of coffee and give a cup to my spawn. I really enjoy tea or a black cup at the peak too.
Glad to see you back growing. Some people just enjoy the grows without blasting their brains out

Ok. It isn't that exciting. But kind of.
Opened up the tubs after 10 days. Will be interesting to see how they grow in. I only used 2 half pint jars each tub and can see they colonized a bit thin. But here we go. Now for the fun part.

I like when they grow these little rhizo snowflakes
