I've never foraged for fungi before and having a few minutes to spare this morning took a short stroll over some nearby moorland to see what I could find. I found quite a few fungi and out of all of them I found a few of interest and would like your help on identifying them please. 

They certainly look to me like Liberty Caps but I'm not sure. Do Caps bruise blue, these didn't?

I'm almost absolutely sure those are liberty caps. Any more pics? If you want to be sure, make a spore print. It should be purple brown. They are abundant in moors this time of year. They don't always bruise blue and when they do, it's usually at the base of the stem. Whereabouts (generally) did you find them? I would often find in the peak district, Dartmoor, Snowdonia, and most of Scotland especially where sheep graze.

Liberty Caps (the Bell cap and the Gills match perfectly... a little bluing at the base it looks like)... Oman a friend of ours used to pick these in Arcata CA damn near in his backyard (didn't have to go far).  Wonderful buzz and a gram or so and... OFF YOU go.

Lucky old Oman, having them growing so close to home.

 

I did think about trying a spore print but other things got in the way and I was a bit late to try it. I've just wrapped them up in tissue and they've dried nicely. Dry weight of 0.4g.

I wasn't sure what they were so have done nothing else with them.

 

As to location it wasn't too far from Dartmoor.

Dartmoor is full of libs.

These were picked in Dartmoor in 2018 when I used to live in the UK.

Keep your eyes out for cyanescens in woodchip beds whenever you go to Tesco or Sainsbury's. I would find loads of those up until February.

Good idea for checking out the woodchips. I hadn't thought of that.

Nice to know I made an accurate I.D. of my fungi.
