Mescaline contamination by NaCl

OK. This particular extraction was using H2SO4 resulting in sodium sulphate. I see the same thing happening with HCl, resulting in "Table Salt".

I suspect my buddy Freddy ran into this same sodium sulfate salt problem a decade ago...

For sure it was a product of rushed chemistry. I believe that when allowed to separate properly there is very little sodium contamination of the non-polar solvent. Take your time, let the layers separate completely & this won't be an issue, regardless of the acid used.
