I always enjoy coming across ceeper bud, it has that little hidden surprise that creeps up on you after a nice B-hit. I had some the other night and it made me wonder, why it is able to creep up on you after a short time? The initial high was mellow then 10-30 seconds later, the fog rolled in. Maybe some CBG or CBN involved?

I dont know the answer, but I'm with you in your like of creeper bud.  Like you said, everything starts out nice and mellow....., and then all of the sudden you realize that your hammered, lol. 

 

I've had some kinds of mixed drinks that work in a similar fashion.  You have 3 or 4 and everything is going fine.  Then you go to get off your bar stool, and suddenly find that the floor isn't quite where you remembered it...

Been there, done that too. Sittin there minding my own business then realize I'm really stoned, when did that happen? It may have to do with a new kind of bud you've never done before cause the next time the creep is gone. The same thing seems to happen when getting the giggles with a new bud.

I can tell you that some strains are just Creeper through and through.  I grew some God Bud awhile back, and it hit you initially, but light in comparison, but give it 30 minutes and you will soon realize you smoked TOO much.  I've never had a Sativa (Hybrids Mainly I don't grow straight Sativas) be a Creeper, definitely an Indica thing.

I'm glad you said 30 minutes because OP said 30 seconds. For me all weed has me high in 30 seconds...except for creeper. Well with creeper I catch the buzz in 30 seconds like all other bud BUT the difference being 15-30 minutes later it's like getting punched in the face! Then I'm like "fuck I didn't mean to get this high!" Lol I've got some rosin right now that has this very pronounced creeper effect; it starts out slow and mellow like any other like any other extract. The hit is smooth and barely makes you cough. Then 30 minutes later...BOOM! All of a sudden you're in more than you had bargained for! Lol

Buddy Gave me dozens or random seeds. He’s grown for decades and traded me for some mush. I put a few in the field did their thing despite being munched on a few times by deer. I got them dried and “cured” haphazardly . It’s not the best smoke but it’s better than nothing . I’ll run it through my old school vape and think “wish this were stronger” only to find myself having a hard time functioning 30 minutes later .

When I get too high too fast I get really anxious and socially disfunctional  , so now I smoke really low dosage at a time so I dont get creeper effect

I also think I harvested those buds a bit early idk if that is the reason for the creep either ?

I don't know what chemistry is at play but it is certainly chemistry.

Certain compounds in cannabis have a long half-life while others are very delicate and are processed by the liver very quickly.

As we all know - not all strains of cannabis are equal. Extensive gas chromatography studies will likely answer this question in the coming years as cannabis is slowly de-criminalized.
