I have 10gm Anandenanthera Peregrina seeds. I'm planning on planting them. There seems to be two schools of thought as regards to the germination. 1; plant embryo side down half way into the medium. 2; lay flat as they would do naturally. What do you all think? Anyone with experience out there? The next thing is extraction. I've done an extract on A. Columbrina seeds using calcium hydroxide and isopropyl alcohol (I think....it was a while ago!) to come up with calcium bufotenine. A. Peregrina has more DMT and MEO DMT than Bufotenine and may require some solvents that are not readily available around my parts.

Great to hear you are planning to grow them, let us know how it works out! But I have to say, your statement about the alkaloid content is not true.

http://entheology.or...wer.asp?a=9&z=8

'Up to 7.4% bufotenine has been found in seeds of A. peregrina var. peregrina, only 0.04% 5-MeO-DMT and 0.16% DMT.'

I don't have experience with growing them, although I extracted Yopo once and extracted Cebil seeds many times. After many tries, I've managed to extract some quite pure amber colored looking microcrystals of Bufotenine freebase. Because of the use of such heat and extracting it with polar solvents and defatting with non-polar solvents there is no DMT or 5-MeO-DMT present in the final product.

Thanks for updating me on the alkaloid content. My info was old and to be honest I can't remember where I got it!

No problem! This is a common misconception you see more often online, also a lot of online smartshops mention wrong info about the alkaloid content in Yopo or Cebil seeds.

I am curious, did it worked out with planting the seeds?

Haven't tried yet. I'll wait for spring. (In the southern hemisphere)

I germinated mine planting them horizontal and covering with 3-4mm mix. They germinate quite readily.

I'd watch out with the snuff. That's some rugged shit. It took most of the weekend to stop blowing my nose...
