I'm excited to see if something like this happens in the States anytime soon.

I think Cali has a bill being legislated, but it doesn't look good. IIRC, the pro-argument was "Look at all the research coming out, this could help people and bring in revenue." While the con was basically "But LSD causes psychosis sometimes. Does the risk outweigh the benefit?" Frankly I think the con makes a decent, but ill informed, point. Any mind-altering drug can cause psychosis, and for some people seasonal changes and holiday stress can cause psychosis. However, hallucinogens seem to cause it at a higher rate, which makes sense given the nature of the high. So do we try and minimize the risk? If so, how? Etc.

I have a friend who lives up there, he's interested but also new to hallucinogens (exploring Eastern/new-age stuff late in life). So he hasn't tried them yet. I think he wants to see if there are reports of health issues and whatnot first. Similarly, I suspect that Vancouver will be an interesting trial run, and could very well determine what happens down here south of the border.

This is pretty much what happened during the few yeas before weed legalization, those folk on the west coast seem to set the trend for civil disobedience and drug use in Canada. Guys were operating vending machine style weed stores and the cops were told to basically ignore it. Although the mushroom has been off the radar around here for a while, if it ever was on it to begin with. You can order full grow kits that come with fresh shipped spawn that you break up and essentially do your own bulk grow with. This was how I got started, typed grow magic mushroom Canada into the search bar and decided to pull the trigger on these guys. Later finding this place in a search for advise on how to manage my new grow

I do remember being able to somehow order the liquid version as well with a picture of some cartoon doctor on the bottle. I think they used a low dose so it never caught much notice of the enforcement. I can't seem to find it at the moment but holy crow so much has changed in even the few years I have been paying attention. Now we have full fledged sites like the weed counterparts where you can order a wide variety of dried mushroom products right to your mailbox.

 

Good sign of the times and hopefully the discussions around the mushroom come out of the backroom and into the storefront

It's already happening. I was recently visiting Michigan and Ann Arbor has magic mushroom delivery services, advertised openly.

But wasn't there a raid on a grow-op up there in the last few months? Still seems a bit difficult for "legal" shrooms. And of course Oakland is Oakland, but I haven't heard anything out of that area for a while.

I'm pretty sure New Mexico has decriminalized magic mushrooms as well.  I can't find the specific details in the legislation but rumors state that magic mushroom sales will be permitted alongside recreational cannabis sales.

I don't know, but I wouldn't be surprised.

 

As the old saying goes, "Pioneers get slaughtered, settlers prosper." Sometimes the first wave of settlers are mistaken for pioneers, I suppose, or a pioneer tries to settle a little bit too soon.

Pretty sure New Mexico did do that. I think the legal argument was something along the lines of, you cant make something illegal that grows naturally from the earth. Also not sure if youre technically allowed to ingest them, just grow them I believe.

I recently learned of two places testing the limits of the LEO's.  one is Shedule 35 (schedule35 dot co).  They selling cubie capsules/chocholates for three hundred and sixty four per oz equivalent price.  they selling to USA and CA. [to be clear to the mods--I'm not selling but merely referencing a questionable company who is).  They are advertising on big podcast like Mike Tyson's show.  And they ship via USPS!  lol.  idk how they getting away with it.  Just found a product being made/sold in Michigan too via this youtube video: https://www.youtube....ts/bXlS-6WIyN0 

 

IDK who the hell would be doing this!?  They asking for trouble imo.

 

Here is an interview with the CEO of Schedule35: He seems to think that bc he is selling from a decriminalized jurisdiction (Toronto) he will not be charged by U.S. Feds.  silly billy!  smh
