I created a 1/2 gallon LC from a large pickle jar! This is a challenge because the stir bar will barely spin from the thickness of the glass.
I’m looking into some kind of a aquarium tube connected to a lid so I can fully withdraw from a LC jar without tipping it and possibly ruining the microporous tape air exchange.
Any ideas?

Lots of great ideas to browse in the Vaults:

I recommend the Airport LC teks. The method is right in line with what you're trying to describe.

I didn't think to offer but, perhaps, a bigger mag stirrer with a heavier magnet?

I have three of these:

That mag stirrer will handle 5-gallon carboys which have very thick glass bottoms. And it will stir a very thick liquid culture with no problem.
