Last night I started harvesting from the A+ and continued today for a total harvest so far of 280g and it still has a dozen or so more to go. This is from a 32 qt tub. As for size they almost rival the TC for being on the small side with the average weight being around 2 to 3 g each. But what they lack in size they make up for in numbers. If these were the size of the BPK shrooms it would easily be 3x the weight. Hopefully the second flush will be a little bigger.
Yesterday I cut the BPK sub in half and used some leftover sub from the A+ as glue between like a layer cake. That one was only producing from around the top edges of the sub with practically nothing in the center. I'm not sure if it was because the sub was a little on the thin side or it's lacking in gypsum, it was an old recipe that was probably the cause of anemic production in all but a few previous grows. Since I can't do anything about the gypsum I'm doing that to hedge my bets. I thought about just stacking the layers on each other but I wanted to encourage them grow together therefore the sub glue. My first step was to give the sub a dunking prior to cutting it then I proceeded as outlined above. Maybe after the BPK is finished I might try shredding some of that sub into a fresh batch of sub...
