Starting a grow log for me and my grow buddy's group grows.

We are currently fruiting cubes in shoebox dubtubs. Coir and verm substrate, no casing.

This is my return to cultivation and Bewildred's first.

We started with premade spawn bags from a certain vendor. I knew better but thought I'd try the easy way for our first grow. They were way too wet, one of the 4 contaminated, another had so much standing water I tossed it, and the other two got spawned.

I'll send photos as soon as I can strip the metadata from them.

How long can we wait to harvest? I'm away at a work conference until Thursday night and I'm the one with the dehydrator.

Also, what's the blob of mycelium on the side of one of the tubs?

Nice looking mush! The last two tubs look ready! That big boy in the first pic is ready too. Depending on when you get home Thurs, I've picked and let them sit for 8-12 hrs in a dark dry room before putting in dehydrator. You could let them sit but they are going to make a huge spore covering mess. Spore covered subs don't seem to fruit well on future flushes.

What if your friend picked them, extracted them fresh with lemon and water then made honey, ice cubes, gummies, etc? Then just dry the next flush?

If they got strainer just pick them sit them in the strainer until you get home.  A hundred years ago that's how I did it and set it on top of table lamp.  I never knew anything different. I also dont think it made much of difference in quality either.

Thank you all. They grabbed my dehydrator and are going to harvest today.

What's with the second photo? The mycelium looks like cotton balls and is growing on the side of the tub?

So much fuzzy mycelium. Does this mean these need more air? Something looks wrong....

Is this the 2nd flush? Have you given your sub any water?

Yellow stems and fuzzy mycelium (discolored caps), definitely need more air.  If the dub tub lid doesn't give enough gap for air, add some masking/painters tape, duct tape anything you have laying around and add it to the top tub in the middle of the edge, or all four corners for even gap.  I have a few tubs that don't provide their original gap from age and what not (warpage sometimes).
