That's pretty cool Yoshi. I've never played with fresh figs, or even seen a fig tree in real life. My only experience with them has been fig newtons, lol.
I imagine it is like most foods, fresh harvested tastes better then commercially processed.

I love figs. Fresh are wonderful, but I think a fig jam over a warm Brie is my favorite rare snack......

Tis the season for figs here! I have multiple varieties with yellow or purple skin, yellow or pink/red interiors. Many of the dark skinned fruits and some of the yellow will be rinsed, have their blossom ends removed, bagged and tossed in the freezer. I need a few gallon zips worth to make into fig jam.
when fresh come to Trader Joes here, they're my favorite food.
