Original Skunk - Phoenix Seeds
After harvest watered bed with around 2.5% waterings and mixed top layer in with craft blend amendment.
At planting top dressed with some gnarled barley for the feeder roots. Covered with fresh Colorado worm co. castings that were supplemented with some of the BAS 3.0 soil I had left over to stretch the castings and boost some nutrient contents.
Spread a heavy layer of cover crop seed
Laid a straw mulch layer down
Top dressed with some kashi blend and some additional cover crop seeds.
Plan on watering in with a compost tea @ 2.5% wait 2 and water @ 2.5 before moving to larger 5-10%’s

The compost teas and the kashi should help with nutrient cycling and making the food more available to the worms.

The gnarley barley can be brewed as a seed tea for the nutrient cycling but my compost tea and kashi will do this for me. so I ground the gnarley barley up and applied around the plants as top dress to encourage feeder root development.
Craft blend is a top dressed amendment.

The 3.0 soil has similar ingredients and has castings. So I had 1/2 a bag of the 3.0 soil so I bought smaller craft and worm castings for my re amend

Should flip in 1-2 weeks.E2715D3D-0DA5-4535-BAB2-71DAAA650AA0.jpeg

Sprouted Seed Tea
For adding enzymes to help cycle and break down nutrients added to the soil. Easier for worms to digest and plants to uptake.
Seeds such as alfalfa and barley tend to be used during veg
Seeds such as corn tend to be used during flower
Coot’s gnarley barley has all 3 and can be used full cycle when watering

2/2
56g gnarley barley set to soak for 8 hours

2/3
A.M. - Rinse and place into mason jar for sprouting
P.M. - Rince and replace in sprouting jar

2/4
A.M./P.M. rince and replace

2/5
Add sprouts to blender with water and blend
Strain and save pulp
Add liquid to 5 gallon bucket and fill with water

Water at a rate of 1:100 for soli drench or foliage spray.

I've been playing with seed sprout teas for awhile now, had a hard time with Oats, but Brown Rice and Corn are easy peazy to sprout... and FAST.  Easier to time everything with these two.  Been meaning to try some mung beans since they are cheap.  Most folks go half strength on alfalfa sprout teas, some strong stuff so be careful.  If you are going big commercial style grows, it would be a ton of work to sprout seeds, so malted barley is an option as well.  Sprouts are also very nutritious for humans.

I'm diggin' your clone bed, like a Sea of Green style, good stuff fellow Cannabis cultivator.   :meditate:

Watered both beds with 3 gallons of seed tea on 1/5

Mung should work well. I use pinto.
I personally use corn lentils and pintos and barley
The gnarley barley I used this time has the corn, lentil, and malted barley in it.

If I was a commercial grow I’d use those cattle fodder troughs to sprout and big IBC style water bins. I will be doing a jadam style plant ferment in one of those coming soon for an outdoor grow.

I’m itching to flip to flower so those clones can get some stretch and another net put in.

Phoenix Seeds - Original Skunk
Seedling #5
1-2890A1A478-63D8-48D3-898A-8149F4682CE0.jpeg

This seedling was offered to a growmie who passed the LA SAGE, and strawberry daiquiri clones. Growmie has gone silent on me and I decided to transplant it into a 15 gallon with BAS 3.0 soil and the host of other items I used for the other skunk plants. I will flower her out as well.

LA Sage - clone

Got two cuttings from the same growmie who gifted the strawberry daiquiri clones. There was some transplant shock and one died. This clone grew well and was going to be a mother plant due to flower room space, but out grew the container and got hungry when live and I laws became busy. I got it transplanted Into a 15 gallon with the same BAS 3.0 soil base and amendments as above with the skunk. I am going to flower it out as I have access to more clones and figured I may have damaged the genetics to keep it as a mom. A little living soil love and some good humidity and she greened up nicely.13971FF6-C96A-4E7F-9FB9-E332A1D584EB.jpeg

Strawberry daiquiri clone

This is the 3rd and last plant I have in a 15 gallon. Same BAS 3.0 and amendments.
Ment to be a mother but the structure was nice and I had to do some juggling of tents so I decided to clone and flower her.

2/13 -
Watering day. I want to drop a 10% target range for watering but going to break it up into 2 waterings over 2 days with left over compost tea diluted to needed level with water.

2-14
Added gnarley barley and cover crop seed meal, big 6 micro’s worm castings and some kashi before watering

Your plants look healthy and happy... I'm almost 5 weeks (Monday) in on my new girls, but I have a veg tent, so I cheated (they were begging to be flowered, my timing was just a bit off (dialing in perpetual data) and had to prune the shit out of them).

See you at the finish LINE.   :meditate:
