After harvest watered bed with around 2.5% waterings and mixed top layer in with craft blend amendment.
At planting top dressed with some gnarled barley for the feeder roots. Covered with fresh Colorado worm co. castings that were supplemented with some of the BAS 3.0 soil I had left over to stretch the castings and boost some nutrient contents.
Spread a heavy layer of cover crop seed
Laid a straw mulch layer down
Top dressed with some kashi blend and some additional cover crop seeds.
Plan on watering in with a compost tea @ 2.5% wait 2 and water @ 2.5 before moving to larger 5-10%’s
The compost teas and the kashi should help with nutrient cycling and making the food more available to the worms.
The gnarley barley can be brewed as a seed tea for the nutrient cycling but my compost tea and kashi will do this for me. so I ground the gnarley barley up and applied around the plants as top dress to encourage feeder root development.
Craft blend is a top dressed amendment.
The 3.0 soil has similar ingredients and has castings. So I had 1/2 a bag of the 3.0 soil so I bought smaller craft and worm castings for my re amend
Should flip in 1-2 weeks.
