After getting advise from a friendly shroomery member in the quick advise thread I decided to shake all the bags. Note I will not buy anymore popcorn 2 out 3 went green.

Lots of pics for documentation purposes. All bags before shake. Day 13 since inoculation

Just checked on the grow bags they appear to be colonizing OK after shake 2 days ago.

The B+ BRF jars don't have any growth =( Although I was expecting this due to complications during LC inoculation as explained earlier.

A kind member is sending GT print so I'm gonna experiment with that as well as the swab set ordered from a new vendor found via youtube. We'll see if he is trustworthy or not.

Also need to figure out what to do with the last 1cc of Nat.

There may be life in some of the B+ LC jars after all! Still undecided but even if half have myc I'll be happy.

Cats are actually our overlords......it's not that they are lazy......hahaha

 

Popcorn (along with other grains in fact) that get sterilized correctly works like a charm when nocked up with clean wedges or LC.....

 

I have had far greater success making good grain spawn with agar wedges than LC's......

 

Keep at it....you'll get there....I cannot over emphasize the value of a pressure cooker and becoming proficient in aseptic work in this hobby.....

Are these BRF jars, if they are, it's probably just the VERM looking like it's green here and there, that's normal.  Certain angles or the camera flash of light will be deceiving, but as far as I can tell you look fine at this juncture.  Hope to see you at the finish line.

Yes BRF jars, and thanks for the help!. My camera is crap which doesn't improve the situation hahah.

My first fully colonized bag of B+ on WBR. It's roughly 1 quart so I'll mix it with 2 quarts coir/verm

 

Here it is mixed in a shoe box

I read so much bad about popcorn while researching then ignored all that and tried it anyway. Followed a tek to the T still 2/3 went green.

 

Haven't tried agar yet but have ordered the stuff for Pasty's easy agar. Just yesterday actually should be here mid to end of week.

 

I do have a PC and use it to prep everything except coir. Because I read sterilizing coir is more likely to get contamination.

The final bag of popcorn was fully colonized today so it was spawned to a shoe box.

Finally after 3 weeks of checking walmart I found wide 1/2 pint jars. Now I have both regular and wide mouth. Might prep WBR today to start more B+ or maybe wait until more stuff arrives.

The spore swabs I ordered were supposed to arrive yesterday but the mail man never delivered. Unfortunately this happens sometimes because my building is like 2nd to last stop. Anyways I don't have the supplies to make agar yet so it isn't a big deal.

I got mail today not the swabs that were supposed to arrive yesterday. Funnily enough it was a box of 100 sterilized swabs for giveaways. Not sure whats up with usps but I hope the package arrives before the end of the week when the agar stuff is supposed to be delivered. It's not the sellers fault postal service sucks at doing it's job though.

Damn it can't sleep.... The question running through my mind is which swab to try as my first agar project. The two that arrived today are supposed to be true albino "squat pheno" more info later. As you probably know spores from albino fruits are clear. The swabs are slightly blue on the tip. Then again if the giveaway swab gets here before the agar it'll be another albino called Avery's Albino. Maybe 4 of each (only have 8 mini rounds). No never mind I've decided I want to test a swab from this new vendor 4 mini's from 1 swab then the remaining 4 will be for transfers. Avery will have to wait until I order more mini rounds for no pour agar.

How does my first ever bulk grow look? This was WBR spawned to coir/verm. There isn't so much condensation on the sides/lid should I mist?

I been checking out the discord for the swab vendor and there seems to be a lot of people posting grows and info etc. Probably doesn't help that I've never done discord before so it's a bit confusing.

 

This is a picture of the strain/pheno I purchased. Lately I've been into short/squat types

Decided to lolipop the Durban x Killer Cookie today. I think it may need more removed but this is a good start.

Mushy update

 

Two remaining bags of B+ are almost 100% just a few uncolonized grains. Waiting a day or two then into shoe boxes.

 

Half the agar/myco supplies should be arriving today and the rest in a day or two. Also bought some more myco bags. Honestly not sure why I bought quart jars when the bags are so much easier. Only problem with them is a bag holds more so if it contaminates you lose more than a quart.

 

Also seriously considering purchasing a FFU in the next month or two. All depends how much money I can allocate to this hobby from now until then.

I ordered a pack of micro pore tape and this is what came instead

 

 

Can I even use this stuff? I need it to tape over the whole in mini agar rounds.

Today the last two WBR bags were fully colonized so I spawned them to shoe boxes. The top one was cased with 1 quart coco the rest uncased.
