Hello fellow travelers

Its been a while since I have been here, nice to see its still thriving

I have introduced a long time friend to cubensis for the very first time a few months ago he wanted the "experience" so I gave him 4 grams of amazon cubes

to my dismay he didn't get high at all...he just said he left a little stoned and after two hours he was back to baseline. I eat three grams of whatever and I'm on the moon!

so a few weeks ago I gave him 9 grams he hogged them down on an empty stomach and STILL really didn't feel much of anything...If i ate 9 grams i would probably be dead lol.

He does not take SSRI's or any other medications that could potentially block the trip. I just feel really bummed trying to give him an experience and he doesn't have one.

I would love to hear of other peoples experiences or if there's something else he could try.

I had a friend on here years ago who had exactly the same situation.

He had tried different mushroom varieties - cubes, caerulescens, etc. - and none of them had any effect. He also went so far as to extract and purify DMT - which also had no effect.

I personally tested the extracted DMT and it definitely worked - no question about it.

While I have no explanation, some rare folks just seem to be "resistant" to psychadelics.

Perhaps in some cases, it may be extremely effective liver, with their mono amines oxidizing the tryptamines in an unusually rapid manner?

It may be worth these individuals time to investigate that by trying some rue or caapi to see if there’s any difference. At the very least, it will rule that factor out.

I have never met anyone except this long time friend, what's also weird is that he has an extreme case of IBS and I started to lean on that he is missing an enzyme in his stomach or something to be able to absorb it.

Do you know how much to take with X amount of mush?

Has your friend tried vaping some DMT yet?

If DMT works at a typical dose then that would suggest there's something going on in his stomach that is neutralizing the magic. If not then it's something most likely related to unusual brain chemistry IMO.

There's also other classes of psychedelics (not tryptamine-based) to try. If it were me I'd start with mescaline/cactus if DMT fails.

Sorry if I'm sidetracking a bit, please forgive me.

Do SSRI's inhibit LSD as well, or does it affect the brain chemistry differently to do it's magic then the way psilocybin or DMT do?

Good question. I feel like I used to know the answer but now I can't recall one way or the other.
