I have a San Padro cactus that I would like to learn how to propagate it properly. I am pretty sure you cut it and plant it in the dirt and it will start to grow.
is it that basic, or is there more to it?

Just an FYI for you.....start your cacti, and other "green things" threads here https://mycotopia.ne...m/8-botanicals/
Just to keep things on topic around here and more importantly your interests in front of folks that are more likely to also share them with you....
A mod can probably move it I'm sure.....in any case.....
When I have cuttings, like these Bridgesii tops that grew etiolated, or cacti that get broken or unwieldy......I lay them down on dry soil or sand and leave them out in the shade....
This is what happens to mine....all of my trichs do this....they are very hardy IME....topping them definitely causes pupping too as will giving them a large pot from very early on....
Good growing vibes coming atcha...
