As a complete Newbe I am open to explore all reasonable options and pathways, hence joining this group … probably like many of you similarly,… But anything to help DEPRESSION, ADHD and reduce BLOOD PRESSURE,and cure INSOMNIA and I mean REALLY lower my BP …currently 195/102 at worse and 175/85 at best and that’s with max medication
I came off antidepressants (venlafaxine) 6 years ago.. as not doing anything and tried others to no avail.
My cardiovascular is absolutely fine …had it checked numerous times with top cardiologist.
I run 20k every week and have done for 35 years, I’m not overweight at 167 lbs 6’2”, I’ve never smoked tobacco (well, not for 40 years and that was the occasional “party smoke”), 1 beer a week if that, 5 cups of tea in a week, no coffee (once in a blue moon) Eat a healthy balanced diet and have a physically active job.
I currently vape 0.1 to 0.3g of herb most evenings to help with the insomnia with regular weekly/ 2 weekly breaks to assist with strain blindness/tolerance, but this only masks the insomnia, but it does help. Otherwise I lead a monks life. There has to be something out there
It’s a bit of a shopping list, but working on blood pressure first
I am absolutely convinced that my blood pressure issues are psychological, not physiological.
Whatever the suggestions it’s got to help with the BLOOD PRESSURE so I can start the journey … THANKS

First off, welcome to Mycopia

Now..... YIKES! Thats some really high BP numbers friend. I get those kind of numbers if I don't take my meds, but with pills I keep it down around 130/80, but it took several years of trying different meds (and there are a TON of them) before I got the right combo for me.  For me I was also unable to drop my BP to safe levels until I got control of my sleep apnea.

If you don't mind sharing, what meds/strength do they have you on now?

Seems you've got a thyroid issue by that med line up.  Does your doc think that is a contributing factor to your condition?

Taking care of my sleep apnea was a much bigger help to controlling my BP then any of the meds I take. You should talk to your doc about it see if you can get a sleep study done.  Using my machine was a huge game changer for me, it took away a fog that I had lived in for so long that I didn't even recognize it was there.

You can even do your sleep study in the comfort and privacy of your own home these days, It's a fairly easy thing to check and either rule out, or address depending on the results.

You are absolutely correct… Proper sleep will help lower BP… But it’s how to obtain that!….This is why I’m starting this journey perhaps purging past demons and a peculiar upbringing with a heavy dose of ADHD thrown in for good measure
