Just harvested my last round of golden teacher before I move- and these scream 'super potent' to me...I'm in the process of moving so this has scarred me off eating any of them yet cuz I've wanted a normal head for dealing with flat-land logistics ...
Anyway, photos to come, but this was my first time screwing with a modified Martha set up in some time, and also playing with making essentially 'giant pf cakes'
Picture a half pint jar, just 2.6 liters tall- I layered (horsepoo/coir) -grain spawn- (horsepoo/coir) etc until full, then let incubate until colonized then squeezed the edges of the Tupperware until the giant 'cake' slid out.
At which point, I placed them in a bowl filled with cactus potting grit and water, and placed in the Martha.
Pinning was majorly uneven - the Martha was made with white greenhouse plastic so light was very indirect- it's very clear from this experiment that more focused lighting is desired.
For misting I was using an atomiser, 5-6 times a day.
Now the mushrooms! Some grew normally, others had a bulge right under the cap, which didn't open- I've seen similar mutations before in golden teachers grown in similar set ups and they were super potent
But it's the bluing that was most curious to me, as many of the mushrooms were showing bluing on the stipes even while still growing, without any pressure contact,(never seen this before) and upon harvesting, turning almost black in some places.
Curious to hear thoughts, and also if anyone knows of studies looking at psilocybin content compares to fruiting chamber method or rh?
