I have heard rumors about people being allergic to pennicillin cannot have magic mushrooms, or they with go into shock or something... this cant be true... anyone heard anything about this?

There was a thread floating around here somewhere talking about how if you were allergic to penicillun you couldn't work at a Mushroom Farm. Sorry, I have no idea where it went.

I am allergic to penicillin and I have no problems with any types of mushrooms.
Its a completely different kind of fungus.

If this is the case it has to be because they don't want to be liable for people getting sick due to penicillin outbreaks when they occur. Even the cleanest operation has to have contamination every once in a while.

agreed, folks with any kind of severe allergies need to be careful around molds
