Hit me up if you ever have questions on the hot peppers and thier growth. I have grown them in my gardens for years.

the hottest pepper known to man is the red habenero. the regular orange habs are pretty much too hot to eat for most folks. if you use them in moderation they heat up dishes quite well.

No problem Jim, I go by the Scoville scale that most chile heads use. I do not doubt there may be some hotter pepper out there, but check this out. http://homecooking.a...blhotchiles.htm

do you know the actual name of those peppers Jim? i love hot peppers and have eaten most of them, so any new ones are welcome.

I know a laotian family who grows peppers that are definitley hotter than habaneros in my experience. They call them mao-pu, though I'm not sure what they're called in other languages/cultures.

I have eaten habs, but never a red hab as they are fairly rare in the marketplace. The small thai peppers are hot for sure, but I know the phenotypes play a role in peppers like they do in mj or cactus. I have had jalepenos that didnt even burn and some that I couldnt finish because they were so hot. So, I honestly cant say the hottest pepper for sure is this or that, but its fun trying to find it huh?

though not the hottest,
i think the best bang w/ the best flavor
is the Datil Pepper.
I'm trying to germ some seeds now,
and grow them in a window sill,
we'll see...
