what i've done is bought some profil..
some 1/4 polyethylene tubing..
some Silicone II ( doesn't say anything about temps other then that it is NOT FOR surfaces that will exeed 400*f,
i figure since @ 15psi temps are only around 260* this shouldn't be a problem)...
and foam ear plugs (if you know anybody in construction or landscaping they can get you piles of these for free
first was jar lid prep... used a dremle to cut a 1/4in hole in jar lid..
would probibly be better to have a slightly smaller hole then the outer diameter of the tubing..
but this stuff is thick so i just drilled them to where they just slid in
the i cut two 4 inch long peices of tubing
and used a lighter to make them soft so i could roll them flat.
to make the filter..
i rolled up some profil.. once it was rolled...
then i took a sharp flat blade knife and cut it into 3 peices
by pushing straight down on it with the knife and rocking it back and forth...
the peices were then re-rolled between my fingers and put into the lenght of tube..
. my thinking on this is that even if the bottom filter gets wet it will still have 2 above it that will stay dry...
think this will work..?
for the ear plug patch took the other 4 in peice of tubing and heated the middle
with a lighter until it started to melt a little.. then i took the back of the knife
i was using earlier and sunk a ring into the plastic.. so it went
----\_/----
___/-\___
then i cut a piece of the ear plug.. one could just cut it into 3rds and use the round middle section..
but i found this was hard to push the needle though.. so i trimmed it down a little with the knife
and then pushed it down the tube until it stopped moving down
then i trimed up the plastic.. to about 3cm on either side of the ringed part
it is still pretty hard to push through the ear plug peice..
i'm hoping the silicon will hold it in place...
i tested the ear plugs ability to form a seal by poking it with the needle 10 times..
then tryed to blow though the tube which didn't work.. so it seems to be able to form a seal
i am right now in the process of sealing the filter and earplug tubes in..
the silicone says it takes 24 hours to cure.. so i will test if it will hold the tubes then...
do you guys thing this filter system will work?
it seems to me as long as the outside filter doesn't get wet with karo water
it shouldn't matter if the others do as the air will still get filtered by the first one... questions comments :)
this is just the weed induced project and ramblings.. hopeing things will work out :)

but i think you'll be fine on the wetness issue, i believe mycota only used one tube and filter fill and said it did him fine everytime......

"stream of consciousness" tek to say the least
but i dig it Lost
it sounds like a combonation of a "needle vent"
and another sort of karo tek
posted a while back from a clever fellow using rubber tubing
to allow for smaller syringes (1.5") to utilize a quart/pint jar.
I can't find it to save my soul;
but trust me, it was smart, if I did it I'd do it that way;
this looks very similar.
Was that Mycota or Mike?
Extending that tubing so it will do all the way down to the bottom of the jar is crucial
because you never have to open the thing and you can suck every drop out.
I believe the tek actually had two ports, one was a tube-like filter as you show,
and the other was a hose that ran the length of a pint jar.
So if I read you correctly, I think you'll be cool.
I think it'll work.
Yeah.
Full faith and confidence.
ONWARD AND UPWARD!!!

so the short injection port didn't work out, trying to push the needle though the ear plug can be hard with an 18gauge needle...
think it's gonna need some support so i can push it through without it moving.. i'm thinking if i make a straight peice that hits the bottom that should give it the support...
i'm gonna work on fixing it up today
i was just wondering what people thought of the filter.. and if they thought it would work
thanks for the vote of confidence guys
