Do you run the magnetic stirrer constantly, or just every few hours or so to break up the mycelium?

The magnetic stirrer runs constantly at about 300rpm, and
if mycelium builds up on the stir bar it gets cranked up to
1000rpm for a couple of minutes to break things up and
clean the bar off .

im going to use one of them disco ball desktop light thingys to make my stirrer although ive found that breaking up the mycelium really isnt that hard , its jusrt easy to forget about stirrin up your jars


and i agree with the majority this thread is of greatness

I like the gadget aspect. I've put together a stirrer using a pc fan and a controller circuit. I'd like to get a bubbler and temperature control going too.
