Got any more details, it's kinda hard to tell from the pic.
How old is it? What strain? Has it pinned yet? Substrate?

I've found that even if a casing becomes overlaid they can still perform very well and tend to do better left alone. I haven't had much success with recasing or scratching the surface up.

It could be overlay Howard.

It is HillBilly Or Acaidiana Coast and it was incubated for 4 to 6 days 84 dereees and has been in chamber w/ 85 to 95 percent Oh the spawn is PopCorn
And thats what I was afraid of that i should of patched it but the myceleium (will correct spelling later) was so pretty and even I just did not have the heart to do so. This is the only decent picture I have.
If my friend did leave it in the incubator to long is there any thing he can do, at this point there is no pinning. but it is still a little early, told him to be paitient at this point but we were both qurious.

It could have been taken out of the incubator earlier, many don't even incubate their casings anymore. I would say though that if you just give it plenty of light and fresh air it'll work out just fine. :) Casings that contain coir seem to often grow out pretty heavily regardless.

THX Thats Great News, BTW what is the recomended time to be left in incubator when casing with cori, I have read many diferent opinions, that why I requested some of the opinion of the older and wiser members.

That Hillbilly looks sweet on popcorn, I bet it does great even with that overlay.
My Buddies 1st Unit started pinning Today :cacti::cacti::cacti::cacti::cacti:
with a vengence went over to his place this morning and he had 3 pinning, & when I went back this evening and the unit had surpassed 50 to 60 plus pins in just a few hours, not to mention I told him what I AM Me Said and We pulled another unit out of the incubator that I would of normally left in 2 0r 3 more days. That was this morning and when I went back this evening it had 3 or 4 pins and its only real light exposer ahd been a few hours this afternoon. Would not of expected Pins for another 7 to 11 days.
So I guess the 1st one was not suffering from overlay syndrome. (Hey I Like That terminology) Maybe it will catch on. Well thats 2 out of 4 pinning, I guess I get a Second Pin Dance:dance::dance::dance::dance::dance:
I have also determined that HillBilly's do every thing faster, well at least 20 to 30 percent faster than there Acadiana Coast Cousins.
Whether it be Spawning, Caseing, Pinning. So thats 2 out of 4 with the other 2 not to far behind.
If He sends me more pictures I will post them.

PS: BTW you could not see it in the picture but the Mycelium has the most beautiful Rope Like Textrue you have ever seen, Wish I was adavaced enough to clone it. Well I will be in the future.

I Have read the basics and dont think that will be a problem, right now I just don't have the equipment or the proper set up or equipment to do it right, not to mention I think a good Glove Box would be an esential Tool, and I am not talking about a cardboard GB.
