How long should it take to see signs of fruiting? A FOAF put a tray of grain cased with straight verm into a terrarium 2 weeks ago, is misting daily and giving air twice a day. She said that nothing's happened so far.

Is this normal?

Any new mycelial growth occurring? Can you see mycelium sticking up through the casing layer?

She sent me these 2 pictures

She told me after she cased with straight vermiculite that she put it back into the incubator with clingfilm over the top for several days before moving to the FC. I think her casing layer may be too thin.

There's plenty of FAE with all the Tyvek covered holes around the periphery of the FC. Temp varies from 16C-28C (62F-82F) with weather fluctuations and is receiving illumination for 12h with fluorescent light. She said that for a week and a half it was only diffuse natural light from a window that doesn't get direct sunlight.

It looks like she wasn't patient enough. She reported the first sign of pins today and sent this picture:

Yeah sorry for that Hippie, I didn't mean to be an ass and drag it OT. I'll be more careful in future.

I'm now geting excited at seeing new picures daily. I've heard there's heaps and heaps of little primordia appearing, hopefully will be a good first flush!

Thanks for the encouragement!

They seem to be little stubby mushrooms, only about a thumb length long. Why would that be the case? Looks like she should be harvesting them soon, no?

I visited today and couldn't resist harvesting the largest fruit. I know it was before the veil broke, but only just.

It weighs just shy of 15g wet.
