Day 53

The cakes are fruiting like mad, I'm very pleased.

I'll try to post a couple of photos of fruiting and harvesting, either tonight or tomorrow.

here are some shots from one of the 'ole PINTs, harvested yesterday afternoon.

All shots are the same cake, the growth was pleasantly unexpected :amazed:

17.5 Grams (wet) total, been dunked and back into jar for hopefully, a 3rd round.

Jars have finally synced with flushing-dunking,
all back into jars and awaiting next round
with mindful curiousity.

Also have a fourth jar (dixie), noc'd 22 days ago, fully colonized.

i've gotten 5-6 flushes invitro before so the show ain't over yet...

question, should the jars always be moist on the glass inside?

anyone else have a problem using jars that had inoculation holes punched in them and taped over and then later the cakes seem to be drying out? i'm thinking i should have used lids w/o inoculation holes cuz two of my invitro jars don't look as wet on the glass as other two.

should i be opening them each day to air them out?

do you recommend dunking them again? one has been dunked already actually, but it still looks dry to me...

You need at least one hole for proper Air Exchange, I've learned that much... and if you're going to inoculate straight to jar (instead of through the lid) I'd suggest you make the A/E port at least a 1/4 inch diameter. Also, use Tyvek or a waterproof bandage to keep the bugs out.

Might be your mixture, though, too. Gotta get the H20 and mix just right :pirate:

Every other day works fine, but by all means experiment... I did!

those two jars do like withered, blueing and thirsty, have they ever fruited? Might wanna try giving 'em another bath, say 15 hours in the fridge.

also had two young shrooms (2 inch)
on the bottom, too.

One of the ole Pint Cakes has slowed
and may not flush a 3rd time
but its sib is close to harvest
likely be more than the 1/4.
