Here's a nice lil video of a texas karo liquid culture.

Some karo was poured into the bottom of a clean half pint jar, tap water added leaving about 3/4 to an inch of space up top, stirred to mix/dissolve the karo. Then the jar was covered with 2 layers of tyvec, and a sealing ring to hold it on. PCed for 25min at 15psi, cooled, innoced with 1/2 cc of Texas spore solution. After innocing the tyvec was 'sealed' somewhat to reduce air exchange so all the water doesn't evap using a piece of packing tape put across about 3/4 of it. This also covers your innoc point/hole.

About a week later, growth began. This is at 10 days. Nice pieces of mycelium all around.

Looks good. My foaf did something similer with B+ with a couple variations. Instead of tyvek he used a coffee filter and a rubber band and instead of PC he just used a microwave to sterilize the karo/water solution.

Thanks ;) Tried to get it as clear as possible. Hopefully this one does well, cuz it's almost PE LC time again :) mwa ha ha

Fridge??? LMFAO, what you talkin about willis. :D I don't put it in a fridge. Oh god, my fridge especially... tis nasty. Thing is loaded with bacteria, food spoils quick, housemates are just slobs. :(

I also never use incubators. Room temps and conditions it is all the way. I just leave it in a drawer in the dark. The drawer was cleaned and nuked well to remove contams, always treats me well. :D

The LC will be tested shortly after it grows a lil more, then, hopefully, will be all used and we'll see what she can do. All on PF Cakes. :headbang:

I have put LC' in my fridge and got no contams. The reason for it was that I thought it would last longer in there.

You're not stupid. :) You underestimate the stankiness ;) lmfao Thing is a nightmare I won't keep my own food to eat in there cept for beer and unopened things... There's no way I'm gonna put my mushies in there. Tis rough enough with the contams.

A nice fridge somewhere else, I may put it in there to keep it longer and kinda halt the growth. And, as you said, make it last longer. :thumbup:

I dunno really, just how they seem to come out. I've found that if I get any sorta off color, like a yellowish tint, the LC is doomed. Clear, and we're all good.
