So my fiance inherited a bowl from a friend that is in desperate need of a scraping to get some of the resin off and needs to have something done about the smell. This thing reeks so damn bad that you can smell it when it is inside a metal tin that is inside of a drawer. This bothers the hell out of me b/c I can't stand the smell of weed, any suggestion on how to cover/get rid of the smell? Is it ok to boil a bowl?

Help! It stinks

If it is glass (or metal) then boiling it is fine. It works wonders too. I usually give my pipes a good shake/soak in either isopropanol or ethanol before i boil em. If you let it soak for a few days, you might not even have to boil it.

MEK methyl ethyl ketone...you can buy it at hardware stores and its usually used as a thinner. Best solvent I have found for resin, better than acetone even. The resin will disolve like magic and leave the glass looking like new. Make sure to rinse with water and dry before use.

get yourself some "420" from a head shop for like $4
or some alcohol and salt works wonders....put the mixture in a baggie with the pipe shake it all around, and repeat with fresh.........
boiling works but it will stink your place up to high heaven...........
