that's hudgegundus fungus.

I'd like to try a mini-fahtster tub trying PR, maybe using a dozen double stacked cakes.

Two questions, do you use a mold or form to DEC when stacking two cakes , or do you do it free hand ?

Do you dunk after birthing ?

thanks everyone! :)

I just do it free hand but i'm sure a mold could be fabricated pretty easily with a little bit of thought.

I put a thick layer of verm on the cakes and soak it after birth with water, like when you tilt the cakes a little bit water runs down the side of the cake.. make sure you put foil between the cakes so water doesnt' get pulled down from the top cake into the bottom. then i wait two days and soak the top cakes' verm layer again but just the top cake... the bottom cake doesn't need it... but that takes a little practice to get right... I'd just dunk for 12 hours after birth and give it a normal to moderately thick casing thats just moistened. and that should do fine. :)

ok, here is the second flush.. lost 7 cakes to the green mean... I think it's the verm i'm using for the casing layers... it needs to be pasteurized first... but thats next time. heres the bin..

not too bad for a second flush. :)

yeah, they drop heavy for sure...I probably shouldn't let em sit in there like that, but after seven cakes start dropping off like flies I got the lazy bug and said whatever... came back a few days later to that. :)

Did you also change the verm coarseness in your casing? From fine to medium?

nope... that stayed the same. I've actually had better luck with fine in the casing mix than medium... weird stuff.
