New Project - Pan Cyans in Sandbags
Posted 17 April 2007 - 10:58 AM
My FOAF's new project is to try and grow Pan Cyans using Sandbags.
The Vietnam Pan Cyan spores have been ordered from The Good Spore, now my FOAF wants to determine the best type of mycobag to use from www.mycrotopia.com
Multi Grains, Rye, Birdseed?? Maybe H3 has a new formula for pan cyan mycobags!!! Maybe the same as his pancakes formula placed into a bag??? Maybe, Maybe!!
My FOAF will be trying www.mycrotopia.com's new sandbags and will place an order for the appropriate mycobags as soon as my FOAF has received some suggestions on the ingredient selection.

Tried to use Paypal just now, and it's not working right. Will try again later.
Thanks for adding these exotic mycobags....really cool.

The two sandbags on this order are going to be used with some GTs that are currently colonizing in the four remaining mycobags left over from the last order from www.mycrotopia.com
So my FOAF will be ordering two more sandbags for the pan cyans once they get close to colonizing these new pan cyan spawn bags from www.mycrotopia.com
Should be a fun ride.

Will post pics soon, I believe I read somewhere that this mycelium is fragile and shouldn't be broken up in the bag the same as cubensis spawn bags. So will leave it alone for now.
So now it's time to get a couple more Sandbags on order now Hippie. By the way, the first two Sandbags were mixed with GT spawn two days ago and they are coming along nicely.

The only time they have failed to recover ,was when bacteria was present..

From what I've read in your postings, you've had allot of experience with Pans.
Your input here is highly regarded, thank you again.

I innoculated 6 out of the 10 Pan spawn bags that Hippie sent me from Mycrotopia about 32 days ago with Vietnam Pan Cyan spores from Hillbilly at The Good Spore.
Two weeks in the incubator and I noticed the first signs of mycelium growth in one of the bags. I slowly started noticing more of the bags showing signs of growth and I now clearly have growth in 5 out of 6 bags. The mycelium looks very healthy in my opinion, but DAMN it's slow!!!!
I'll take some pics and post them soon.

I kind of like the large ziplock bags that joey_megabucks has been using. As slow as the spawn bags are going, I'm not real confident in putting all my eggs in two large sandbags. Call me a pussy or simply a realist......I don't know.
