pans are just a bit slower than cubies,
from the evidence i've seen.
still the bags look about done, healthy.

COOL!!

Now that I know how long it takes, it won't be that big of a deal. Watching...wondering...worrying...waiting during the first attempt is the hardest part. As the legendary Tom Petty would say.

Great pan bags Hip....they love your recipe!

Thanks Hillbilly! That was the plan....to use sandbags. You may see from above that I started to ponder using smaller sandbags, smaller than the massive bastards I've used in the past.

Well than Hippie called me a pussy and so now I'm probably going to try one large sandbag and several smaller sandbags at this point. I'm still trying to learn as much as I can about these pans before I decide. They are cool. Do you have any suggestions Hillbilly?

Nice syringes as always.......The Good Spore hasn't let me down yet.

I have some mycelium piss in the bags.......should I try to drain that off before using as spawn?? Anyone?

Update:

Last night, I took 3 of the pan spawn bags that looked the best and made up two smaller sandbags.....basically one of hippies sandbags from mycrotopia.com split into two smaller plastic bags.

Now last night was the first chance that I had to see these two newest sandbags that Hippie made up for me and I have to say that that I was a surprised to find that Hippie has been doing a little modification of his own.....a little touch of hippiness. Not only was there poo and coir but now straw!!

SWEET!!!! I love it. Thanks Hippie.

no problem, the small amount of straw helps fluff it up

The mycelium growth has been very aggressive.....nearly ready to fruit IMO. Only 36 Hrs to almost completely colonize one large sandbag from www.mycrotopia.com that was split into two smaller sandbags.:headbang:

so you like the smaller bags better ?
colonization speed is vital, hmm, maybe i can tune mine better if reduce volume per bag.

The smaller half size bags obviously have their benefits. This is my first time ever working with pans, so I didn't know how fast/slow they would colonzie the large amount of substrate in one sandbag. This mycelium is allot more aggressive than I envisioned.

I still like the larger bags as well and will be adding some of this same pan spawn to one large sandbag in the next few days to see how that works out and give some comparison. Now that the two smaller sandbags are looking pretty healthy, it's makes it easier to put the rest of my spawn into one large sandbag.

This is fun shit.
