Thanks very much....

I'll certainly let you all see my straw + coir dub-tub, as well as lots of outdoor grows I'm planning for the spring/ summer.

I'd probably be working on some outdoor stuff already, but it's been crazy cold most of the spring....it's mid April and it's still in the 30's every night! Some of you know what I'm talkin' about....:(

I've got spawn from this same grow which has been sitting around for some time.....as soon as my mother-in-law moves back home next week, I'll try to salvage them outdoors....

wish me luck!

I'm still pulling fruits off this thing...

I'm gonna have to finally dunk this and see what it's got left, cause this is off nothing but a couple syringes full of water.

Doesn't look like much, but this's over 150 g. wet right here....

can someone explain to me the perks of a double container fruiting chamber, like this one is? Would it be the same of he just used a lid? thanks

Finding a tub small enough to fill with a reasonable ammount of substrate to a good depth is difficult. I have never tried these kinds of grows, but from what I know depth has a lot to do with size of fruits. Its just impractical. A large tub would require using 20 pounds or so of substrate. Placing an identical tub over the one contaning the substrate allows rooms for the mushrooms to grow nice and straight and TALL.

my next grow i was planning on doing almost identically to this grow, except i was just planning on using one tub with its own lid, not two tubs joined. With holes in the side for circulation and fanning everyday or so. But now im thinking about doing this double tub thingy? Any suggestions?

The first flush looks exactly like what I call "Perfect Cubes". Love them :)
My guess on the strain would be Ecuador. May it be?? Anyway, NICE grow :)

Man, this casing just won't quit!
Here's some of the latest from i think the fifth or sixth flush.
I love this one; the veil looks so cool...
http://mycotopia.net...=1&d=1178741683
The veil broke cleanly on this one...
http://mycotopia.net...=1&d=1178744493
I picked this one a bit early, purely for aesthetics...
http://mycotopia.net...=1&d=1178744493
And lastly, most of this flush...
http://mycotopia.net...=1&d=1178744493
Anyway...I'm calling it. Time of death 5:04 pm.
The casing never contamed, but it's pretty well spent. I did get close to 6 ounces dry off this little guy!

Gracias,

I've got some SA's from another member fruiting now off of about 50/50 coir and straw....

I'll try to get some pics up--right now they're growing in every freakin' direction...

I've never fruited off of coir/straw before...or coir at all for that matter....we'll see how it goes...
