We've all heard people talk about mushrooms like they are expert mycologists when they don't have a clue. What's the best rumors/old wives tales/etc that you've heard? I'll start.

Thanks to Carlos Castenada people think smoking mushrooms works... who here hasnt tried it ? All I can say is dry mushrooms can burn, but with no high what so ever.

the caps and stems in most mushrooms eaten for tripping uses do in fact contain basically the same amount of magic..

experiments were done by mycologists proving the % being the same or near same in most species and at least in all ones grown..

"the only way to do mushrooms is to snort them, man" dead serious. i've seen it done. this 14yr old kid was at a festival and sitting at our campsite lecturing us on methods of mushroom ingestion. we played along, being the assholes that we are, and the kid layed out the above line and Friend said something along the lines of: "wow, that's sooooo hardcore, I've never heard of anyone snorting shrooms b4, that must send you flying" and BAM! kid crushes up a half 1/8 and snorts about a g and a half before his nostrils are completely filled with bluish goop. good times, great oldies. WOOK.
