Thnx. They were 1 pint jars, steamed for 90 minutes and then again for 90 minutes the next day.

Good results with WBS, no less! And we ALL know how funky that stuff can be!

Fractional Sterilization WORKS, folks. You don't have to have a PC to succeed in this hobby (it doesn't hurt, but it also ISN'T REQUIRED).

I never would have believed it if I hadn't run the experiments myself...

I would like a specific or two on your steaming process, though. Just seal up a jar and submerse, or is there more to it than that? Did you do anything to let "live" steam get to the WBS?

Well, you're probably going to think my wbs method is a bit weird. But hey, it works right?

The wbs jars are kinda like pf jars, in that there is a dry verm layer in the bottom of the jar as well as a dry verm layer in the top. That way I don't have to use tyvek or any kind of filter. Its filtered just like a brf/verm jar. They had 4 holes in the top and the lid was covered with foil. The dry verm layer in the bottom acts as a moisture regulator. If the wbs is too wet the verm layer absorbs extra water and prevents any standing water in the bottom. If the wbs gets too dry the verm gives back some moisture.
The jars were steamed in a pot with a cloth and a couple inches of water in the bottom.

An LC was used to innoculate the jars so they colonized pretty damn quick. I guess thats about it. Nice and easy and No PC.
