Anyone know the ID or if they have any alkaloids?

Really reminded me of a peyote with lots of spines.

Its likely that these specimines are "Sclerocactus glaucus" aka Uinta Basin hookless cactus.

Apparentlly "endangered"

I couldnt find much info on them, but I dont think theres much to them aside from their colorful flowers, but who knows.... maybe it has some goodies...

The flower of the Lophophora Williamsii looks pretty similar.

Here is one of mine that just flowered.

Two of my 3 little ~4cm plants flowered in synchrony and I used a paintbrush to exchange pollen, floweres shrivled up and dried on the plants but there were no seeds inside. Anyone know how big before they start to produce seed?

I am growing them for the sake of growing them, they are not for consumption.
