others disagree,
and many find a coir-based casing mix to be satisfactory.
we have found that pure coir casings tend to overlay,
so we now recommend the roughly 50/50 coir/verm ratio
or 60/40, a popular choice from the archives.
coir-based casing should be applied
thicker than others to prevent overlay.

peat/verm/lime is a lot less maintenance, i believe.

is the trashbag to keep the light out of clear tubs(meaning you dont need it if your tub is colored)
or is it to help keep moisture in , and make the tub easier to clean?
