H poo v worm castings

Found a place online where I can get worm castings to the door for 1.10 a pound.
Money isnt the real issue, but I dont want to spend more if I dont have to. Plus it takes so damn long to get the poo, figure the castings people might be a little more on the ball and get it to me quicker.
If hpoo scores a 100, what do worm castings score?

Here's a link to a shit-ton of grows in the archives using castings.

Mushrooms appear just as large and prevalent with castings as with horse manure.
I think that adding coir instead of verm might produce bigger mushrooms than what I'm getting at the moment.
$1 a lb to your door (sent priority via usps) is a pretty good deal.

edit:
be careful not too put too much castings or to have your castings too wet
because it will turn muddy
i think my mix was more or less 90+% coir and the rest castings
hot water was poured on the coir in a tub
covered the tub with a towel
let the coir hydrate enough but not too much
the 'just right' moisture
and then i added the castings while it was still a little hot
mixed it up
covered with towel
and let it cool for spawning
some people may recommend pasteurization tho
but i have not had contams on this process yet

Im kinda tired of paying out the ass for hpoo. It breaks down to about 2.50 a pound to the door.
Are you near a rural area? I've found the horse owners in my area are just dying to give their horse shit away. They have it dumped and mulched all around their property. They don't ask questions, they know it's good fertilizer.
I've also seen people give it away on FreeCycle. Are you familiar with that website?

I prefer good field dry horse poo and donkey poo would be my second choice.
As far as cow poo and worm poo go they are fine if cut with straw or verm.
I hate to cut good shit...

If the only horse ranch is a few hours away, It would still be worth it, just spend the extra time and get EVERY turd on the ground ;)
For me it comes out to about .50c for 50lbs:headbang:
Gotta luv that black gold!

The castings come ready to use, right out of the bag.
There is no busting up clumps or wondering if it is properly aged.
Also, because of it's fine texture, it mixes in well with other substrate material (such as coir, verm or straw) and a little goes a long way.
I mix up my substrate material, place in in a pillowcase, and pasterize with either hot water bath or steam. The castings never get muddy.
Just my two cents.:eusa_thin

Seriously though, thats what I was thinking. The texture of castings. I gatherd some hpoo one time, it was just a ton of work. It was all clumpy. I like the orderd stuff because it comes shreded, but that was my origional point because its over twice as expencive as castings, unless you gather it, then there is just a lot of work in it.
So thanks jm for getting me going on castings. Your grow log started my exploration of worm shit.
