Cool, thanks!

There's a guy selling plans for $13 to make similar but larger reflux-stills for home E85 production, with instructions for getting your ethanol to 100% using a molecular sieve (3 angstrom Zeolite).

For home fuel production, his will make 5 liters per hour of 180 proof, but it's geared for "fuel grade" ethanol, not so good for sipping...

(Turns out the guy is dead. But his website and sales live on!)

Thanks again for this post, I had been thinking the one I posted the link to is too big and expensive, but the one you posted is juuuuust right (and so was the price!).

Could be... I mean, it's a fact that 100% of people who make their own liquor die, whether they drink it or not. I think, in this case, he had a terminal case of old age. ;)

On his (now his family's) site, he mentions the required ATF permits to operate your still legally, which subject you to random visits and inspections by that agency to make sure you are making the ethanol unfit for drinking. I don't know if they inspect your freezer for mason jars. Then, of course, a year or so later the IRS will show up with a massive "unpaid road tax" bill like they've been doing in many states to biodiesel makers. Unless you've been sending money to whatever agency you are supposed to be sending it to when you fill up, of course.

So, if you make your own biodiesel, E85, OR whiskey, keep it on the down-low! :eusa_sile
