PR's on Hippies mycro mix bags

The LC I worked from was fast colonizing ( 10 days for a quart of WBS )
It was slow to pin, but when it did it was a prolific pinner, hundreds of the buggers per square foot, lots of aborts, and potent as hell.
The green seemed to appear pretty reglularly after the first flush before the second finished.
After a while the LC got a bit contaminated and the sub was going green during the first flush.
I found it interesting that the LC got contaminated only a tiny bit and it would spawn WBS fine with no green, but when you put the colonized spawn in a bulk sub the green would show. I finally tossed the LC and started fresh with another strain and haven't seen contam since.
Nice grow space.
Hippies bags rock.
A ghetto Glove box is worth the $15 you'll spend, if your clever they are disposable after every use :pirate: I reccomend one to anyone starting the hobby. Open air innoc. has always been hit or miss in my book no matter how clean the room.

2nd is one of the spawn bags
third is the other spawns
4th is bulk with spawn added
5th with spawn mixed up in bulk
and lastly the final polyfill top for air
both bags done same way
i noticed when i cut the tops off of spawn bags instead of reaching in with hand to get it i mixed it up and poured it into the bulk bag but the new touch was to roll the edges down so when i poured out it wouldnt ever touch the cut part of bag or outer edges, something new to me worked well.

while bulk is still doing its thing i cased 2 bags with verm / coir top and bottom heres some pics of the monotub, tub cased and the 1 bag that i am going to just grow out of as failproof for shrooms.
everything is doing great :eusa_danc
keep your fingers crossed for me

my bulk on the other hand not so good no growth really at all its getting fresh air not too dry/wet and no visual signs of contam but a pungent smell is noticed :eusa_wall
so i mixed it a little aired it out and will see what it does next. sucks i have never really been able to bulk correctly sometimes it works and sometimes not i need to get a pc instead of oven pasturizing it i believe. cooked it at 170-180 1.5 hrs in oven and it dosent look promising.

Hippie have u ever pinned straight from your bags or seen any threads of others who have
let me know...........

it's not really a matter of what they are in,
jars, bags, trays, etc.
if B is right and it still won't pin,
then A wasn't a good combination, some substrains just take longer to pin, some even never do.
luck of the draw.

but u cant guesstimate things like pinning times because u know wat cake it is :)
it has more to do with the environment and genetics as hip said.. the cakes
have pretty much done their job so far now up to em to do summin..
iv waited more than 3 weeks for pins, friend left the cover open one day by mistake and then
they started going mad, was odd but they do have their own mind :p

Sometimes I would open the bag after 100% colonization and put the cake on a 1/2 inch beer can riser over a bed of perlite in a small container. With regular fanning this method seemed to work better for me than using the invitro bags.
It seems that people have better luck with B+, PESA, for first strains. G'luck

i have some other bags with HB strain doing well
will see how they do, so far much faster colonizer than the PR i had
i plan to still tub some and bag grow some
