I don't know if it is Hippie getting into his groove with these or me having one under my belt, but I am seeing a BIG improvement over the first one of these I tried. That one took forever.

This new one is at day 5 since I spawned 4 brf 1/2 pints of Z to it. I put it in the walk in closet where my other one ended up after taking forever in the incubator. I stuffed the top with a big ball of poly with an elastic holding it closed and left it alone. It is really taking off.

Hippie, I noticed there is some straw in this one and there are filter patches instead of poly filled holes. The filter patches keep things alot cleaner.

Thanks for the upgrades this one is goin' nuts.

Remember this is day five!

Here is the whole package ready to go:

Did I mention this is day five? I think I may have but just in case you missed it... this is day five.

Hippie can a brother get a current recipe?

switched to tyvek filters because it breathes better.
some straw to help fluff, not much tho'
still roughly 50/50 donkey doo & coir but
just steamed for moisture content so maybe just
a hair drier than before, more evenly distributed.
imo .

btw
that's kite tyvek, not that paper crap.
compress bag down then raise to fill with air
and you'll see how much better the airflow is now.

Yup already have, they are nice. It helps to keep it in shape too, no vacuum to make it collapse on itself. Bonus to not have to pick poly out of the substrate too. :eusa_clap

Sweet!

I love the tyvek Hip! This is a huge improvement.....

TJ....did you do anything different this time like re-pasteurize before adding spawn, or anything different at all??

Looking good bro!

No I didn't re-pasteurize or anything, used it right out of the box. Only thing different on my end was that I really concentrated on getting the spawn mixed in good, and that I started it out in a well ventilated area instead of an incubator.

This puppy is going to get hit with light and a fan tomorrow.

Very nice........did you time it just right where it showed up in the mail at just the right time or did you freeze and thaw when your spawn was ready??

I had spawn ready when it came, it sat unopened in the box for almost a week though due to a horrific case of :rasta:

Oh and did I just see a Llama? I am going to fruit it as is in the bag.
