This is my first wbs grow attempt. My previous grows were from brf cakes, and rye berry casings using only verm. I am using 3 rubbermaid tubs for growing containers, with a nice airbox setup going to all 3. 2 of the tubs are 2 1/2 feet by 1 foot by 2 feet tall, and the 3rd tub is 3 feet by 1 1/2 foot by 2 foot tall. FAE is good since the airbox setup is on a digital timer (2 hours on, 2 hours off - all day rotation).

I am trying to gain more yeild, so i am lost on what to do with this grow. I have been reading a lil bit about straw, kinda scared to use coir since FOAF had constant contam probs with using coir. Any advice on what to use for better yield would be great!!! I am clueless on all the available teks out there for pasturizing, so that would also be helpful.

Thanks.

Try rez-effect with verm, 1:1 ration of spawn to sterile verm. No pasteurizing, easy to prep, good results ;)

thanks for the heads up, i read some of those in the tek area, but none said how to mix in with the grain, so i am guessing just a simple stir in, then let it colonize, then add a casing layer? sorta similar to how i done the rye berries, but with alot more verm than i thought about using, lol!!

Using a bulk substrate like horse manure would be a nice way to increase yield. Simply pasteurize the manure and add some grain spawn. Easy as shit...no pun intended. ;)

Btw, straw works great too. Here are some South Americans on cased wheat straw.
