Very nice :eusa_clap

What are the temps and what for an casing layer did you use? With stones or only colonized substrate? ....... Give some more information, please.

My friend tells me that his friend did a multi-spore inoculation of straight-up rye berries. After colonization, the rye berries were cased with a thin layer (approx 1/4 inch) of MGMC . Extremely simple.
Temperature was a 79-82 degrees F.

know what the RH % was?

Interesting how fuzzy the myc is. I'm trying to fruit atlantis (already got lots of stones in jars) and thought I had cobweb. But maybe not judging by your pics. Got myc coming through the casing think my temp's too low though.

the mycelia is quite different if you're used to cubensis.

My FOAF doesn't know the relative humidity. In the interest of simplicity he just placed the cased substrate container into a small translucent bucket w/lid. Holes were punched into the bucket for FAE.

Your observation is correct that the mycelium does look much different from cubensis.

anyone know exactly what's in MGMC (Miracle Grow Moisture Control) and what ratio? I just read on another thread* that to fruit atlantis the casing must be 4:1 peat:calcium carbonate. But I imagine a gardening product like MGMC can't have such extreem ratios as 20% [SIZE=-1]CaCO3.

I cased mine with 50/50 with a sprinkling of CaCO3 in the mix (maybe 2-5%) and I've got no pins after 2.5 weeks.

Here's a pic of the label. Sorry it's out of focus, but you can still read the ingredient list. No detailed ratios or percentages though.
