Here we go again time to start another batch.
First ordered my supplies from our great sponsor http://www.bouncingb.com

Measured out 30 grams of Psychotria Viridis and 30 grams of Banisteriopsis Caapi.

Mixed 1 liter of distilled water with 12ml of lemon juice concentrate
(u know in the plastic lemons) this took the ph to 4.6

Posted Image

Put it all into the crock pot and covered with the acidified water, mixed with plastic spoon at 11:30am

Stay tuned more to come...

Peace...

Well its been 4 hours time for first extraction some folks go up to 8 hours here.

Poured the crock pot contents through a cotton cloth being used as a filter. Put all the contents back into the crock pot. Mixed up another batch of acidified water(same as above)poured back into the pot and will go for another 4 hours.

Poured the strain material into jar.

"so in a caapi and viridis mix is it nessesary to use that much lemon juice?"

Use as much lemon juice as required to get your water ph where you want it. The water I used said distilled drinking water the ph was around 7 to start.

I used the lemon juice concentrate and it took the 12ml to get my water to a ph 4.6

I have also used Mimosa hostilis and Peganum Harmala (Syrian Rue) I acidified the water same way.

Ok its been another 4 hours I filtered the brew as above.

Now combined both extractions and put back into the crock pot. I am ready for the final reduction down to about 100ml. I will do this in the crock pot on low over night lid cracked.

The reduction is down to 8 oz and complete.
I have filtered the brew through a fine permanent coffee
filter and through 2 paper coffee filters to reduce sediment.
This will be stored in fridge till needed.

up for an experiment ?
when you're ready,
split it into two equal portions-
to one
add 1 tablespoon nonfat dry powdered milk.

use the other as your control,
i.e. add nothing to it.

drink each in succession [order matters not]
and tell me
which you think
tastes better.
potency will not be effected.

the protein in the milk should neutralize most of the tannins and improve taste considerably.
my experiments confirm this
but i need independant verification,
hence my request.

I can confirm this. But I found that after adding the milk it seems to work better if the liquid is allowed to decant in the fridge a few days. It seems that the tannins bind to the protein and fall out of solution.

I have also found it to work better before the final reduction is done. I have played with this on a very small scale. I should find a large bottle, like those used to make wine, and process the whole extraction.

Mimosa is a sure thing as far as DMT content, its also cheap. The bad part is that it tasts so bad, I hate it... Its very hard to get down, especialy when rue is added to it.

I have discovered a liking for the Rue only after I learned to to the "salt" extraction. The crystals make for a very interesting experiance on their own. It seems that whatever it is in Rue that makes me so ill is left behind in the process. These crytals, when smoked at the peak of a shroom trip are VERY interesting.

now there's a worthy experiment.
