Verm and coir were hydrated with 2 TBS per quart, boiling, sterilized water containing Earth Juice (bat guano, kelp, ect). After hydration the "substrate" was covered and microwaved sterilized for 10 minutes and allowed to cool.

I sliced up 5 very healthy pf classic BRF+flaxseed cakes hydrated with lake water into very thin partitions. The cakes felt like a VERY dense and hydrated sponge. 2.5 cakes were spawned evenly to a medium sized pan filled with 50/50 verm coir about 3 inches deep. Another was made in the same manner.

This is everything freshly mixed up

The project was covered with tin foil and a seal was made with tape around it. A small hole for FAE was made and ventilated with tyvek.

After 2.5 days ( .5 because i started this project at like 4am. productivity bought to you by the letter blazed. ) The "substrate" had been completely colonized and was extremely dense and heavy. Lots of water was laying ontop of the mycelium, this was patted dry with a paper towel.

Hmmm, very interesting. I had never thought to do a sort of individual substrate tray in the microwave...

.. I think you have inspired me to also try this.

Good Job and Good Luck!
