that's just a little more than i pay,
i think mine cost about 17 cents each, including lids,
but i buy
by the 1000 lot to get that price.

I bought 100 of them for just under $25. They're really great. Now I use them for building wood chip spawn. I have about 20 colonized, a mix of Ps cyans and azurescens. I try to plant them around town wherever I see wood chip beds. I've allready put some at Wallmart, my bank, the video store, and a few local parks. Just dig a few holes and dump the containers. It's fun to see how many fruit the following year. Kinda makes hunting fun too. :reb:

even considered burying jars of mexA
like little treasure chests
around the area
and coming back in a few months to harvest ?

They are a little pricey, but a handheld GPS with memory lets you put stuff way out in the woods with no problem finding it again. I use it to store locations anytime I find a patch I want to visit again.

I have zero sense of direction and could get lost (have gotten lost) in a mall. Having the GPS box tell me how to get to the patch and, most importantly, how to get back to the car has been a real Godsend to me.

WayLitJim, I've never worked with plastic containers, just mason jars. Do you ever have any problem with them warping at all? Do you re-use them? Do you seal before PCing?

Hippie3 - I like that MexA idea! I never really thought about it, but I guess an outdoor patch would really be ideal for sclerotia formation.

my gps sure came in handy when i grew weed in those ozark foothills.

btw
the lids seem to be the weak link, at least with mine.
they are thinner in their centers
and get a bit brittle after pc'ing.
therefore i'd reuse the jars but not the lids

underground is dark and temps are constant,
and sealed jars of mexA would do ok methinks.
