Well after my non fruiting batch of Transkei debacle, then my Tex on Rye & Poo mold infestation, I figured I better do something different.
1. Bought a PC, chep one gets to 15psi but can only hold 4 1/2 qt jars at a time. no big deal.

2. Made a glovebox, 2 4" pvc coupling and a large sterilite tub, and a box of rubber gloves.

3. Bought mini trays, 2 recipie sterilite boxes, some Medium tubs, and another large tub.

4. Won a print, was given a print by a generous member, Bought 1 Set of tex, and two January specials from TGS. Then purchased Rye bags and Donkey doo from you know who (H3) :bow:

5. Sterilized and claened every F****ng thing in and around my secret chamber.

6. Innoculated a rye bag w/3 cc OI solution from syringe.

7. PC'd And Innoculated 4 1/2 Ot jars using BRF PF tek, and A Tex Syringe.

8. Waited about 1 week and found wonderfull white growth in the rye bag and in the jars. Rye bag completely colonized except fot the very top layer of grain (seems like the top layer didnt have enough mousture like they dried out). Jars are about 1/2 way colonized. Happy so far :amazed:

9. broke up rye bag and mixed with donkey doo and a tiny biy of coir. both containers are colonizing well. May be time to Case?

Now some pics, hopefully in order of what I just said. Ill have to do this in more than one post.

Rest of the pics. And something I forgot to mention Im keeping the temps around 85 deg F with a lizard warmth ceramic bulb, and while im incubating inside, My fruiting chamber sits on top of the cabinet and the warmth from inside is keeping the FC at ~ 80 deg F, Pretty convenient.

If any body has some wisdom to pass my way it would be appreciated.
Im going to try to keep this going as my first growlog

Those little flip-top boxes look really cool. How big are they? They don't look very big (4x6 inches?) but big enough.

Overall, looks great. Should be very satisfactory.

Yeah Im really hopeing that these turn out. When I started this hobby 3 years ago I was buying complete kits thru a FOAF noy knowing what I was doing and got lucky the first two kits worked out great, grew some good mushies. But my luck ended this year with the third kit, grew nicely but never fruited. Then a bad mold infestation with my first tex syringe in rye. Im thinking with all of the great advice and wisdom of this forum ill be back on the right track. Thanks to everybody who has helped. :bow: :bow: :bow:

Well the two substrate tubs w/ the OI have fully colonized the top layer. I PC'd A 60/40 coir/verm Mix and cased both tubs. Lets see what happens.:eusa_pray Here are some pics of where their at.

And in the meantime the jars innoculated w/ Tex are still colonizing at a steady rate, hopefully will be birthing then in about a week or two.

Well its been two days since I cased my little tubs (By the way they are 4x6 but also 4"deep), And they are already growing fast through the casing. Can anyone tell if they are getting ready to pin, The last batch that failed did the same thing but the Mycelium was very dense and flat, never fruited. So what do ya think at athis point? Pics added.

Oh Yeah, the Tex in the pf jars are almost colonized, 1, 1/2 way and 3, 3/4 of the way there

Things are looking good for this batch, no contams, and a nice rhizomorphic growth. Lots of mycelium poking up through the casing, but still no pins that I can see as of yet. And as for the Tex Jars they are still doing good except one, I think I'm seeing the beginnings of the green monster. :cry:

looking good, wildburr. :thumbup: you may want to think about patching those more densly colonized parts of the casing layer while the rest catches up. just something to think about.

Do you mean just a little, like 1/8" on the denser parts or less?

yeah, just a little... just so that the casing is colonized evenly and not matted. just where it looks like the myc has fully colonized the casing. :) looks good tho.. awesome rhizos!

Just tried the casing patch, looks good, and boy does it smell like mushies in my FC :amazed: :headbang:

How does that miracle-gro perlite work for you? Ive got a big ol' bag of it, but i've been afraid to use it because of the extra "plant nutrients" in it, and the mixed responses about it.

Perlite is only used in the bottom of my FC tub to help keep the humidity up(keep perlite damp not to where water is flowing around). My small tubs inside the tub are setting on a piece of aluminum foil so as to not touch the perlite. And I wouldnt worry about the nutrients they put in it, when the water evaporates the nutrients stay behind, only water evaporates up. In other words it works just fine.

Rhizos,Rhizos,Rhizos. Man this stuff is definitely the most rhizomorphic ive grown,Ive only grown 2 out of 4 successful batches. but this one has been cool to watch grow,and the mat seem to be fairly evenly colonized thru the casing. Now if the pins would start :eusa_pray. Ive got 8 3/16" holes around the tub and 3/16" holes all around the lid, so I think I have enough FAE. The temps are around 78 deg F and I mist a little in the FC every day. As usual Some pics to go along with the progress.
