Its been well over 2 months since I intentionally infested one of the pucks with trich. The trich did not advance so I decided to try again.

This time I put in a combo contam that has trich and a dark grey powdery mold. About 20 gnats flew around inside when I opened the lid I let them go outside.

Also I decided to put a clone chunk in there from the fruiting puck to see how it will do after the puck has sat there for 2 months. It will be interesting to see what spreads first.

Took the two uninoculated pucks that are 2 months old and inspected them. Still moist , no visible contams.

Put a clone chunk of the pseudo Oh Canada in one and some redboy recovery spawn in the other.

I'm trying to see how these older pucks will colonize a couple months down the road.

More later.

Update

Second flush is coming for the poo-paper pucks. I saw a pin and took them out of their plastic incubators. The non-compressed puck is again sporting less pins than the soild one , but this time will hopefully have several fruits.

The compressed puck has about 10 pins hidden around it , but there is one huge one that was massive from the beginning ...

I can't wait to tery these on a fast , well flushing strain !

I have the feeling that pin is going to get huge based on how big it has been to any of the others.

Can't wait to see.

* Pin Watch 08 *

Chubby is still growing. Have a look at him compared to its puck-mates.

I've enjoyed keeping up with this thread. Awesome work and contribution to the community. Hey, what about the trich vs clone puck? How's that coming along?

I'll get some pics of that infested trich puck. Problem is the clone chunk I haphazarly threw in there did'nt take. This puck is going on 2.5 to 3 months old and its kinda dank in there.

The trich agin died back without adavancing into the puck, same with that grey mold. I put two new "varieties" of trich in from some brf jars gone wrong. They are very green but not expanding.

What I have to do now is put a cake chunk in there as i'm out of clone materal for another week or so. I'll do so and document.

If I had more pucks on the go i'd try to infect ones at various stages just to see.

Problem is, you don't have any myc growing in your trich test jars. Sure enough, if you had a good jar on it's way to colonization, it would've taken off without any problem... lol

At this moment its hard to give up any colonizing pucks for science , as I only have a few. That will change as I get some strains up and running ...

oh definitely, what I was saying was more along the lines of that trich will tend to show up with you don't want it or expect it... definitely don't do anything with those good ones you have there
