Hey, Im just looking for a small hydro system that'll go in the closet. Im looking at this sitehttp://www.futuregar...product_listing. Seems what I'm looking for, and not overly expensive. The bulb will run me another hundred for a HID bulb. For a four plant system, whats an alright wattage HID? I was thinking 250W and maybe a 400W for a 6-8plant system. I don't know a thing about hydro, but this seemed OK...What do ya think? I'm about to check out some seed banks, but don't know any that guarantee shipment to the US. I've got some Cali-mist seeds, but I didn't really like the smoke, to be honest. Smooth, but not all there. Any hydro. tips?? thanks!

sounds ok to me. u could probably just do a couple of bubbling buckets. they r cheap and easy to build yourself. if your gonna be growing something that is "questionable" its not wise to be buyin grow equip. with cards and such. there are also a few members here that r regularly in chat, so stop in and ask them.

50 watts is a good figure. For a four plant grow, you need a minimum of 400W.

Try to get a vented hood with a glass heat shield. I could get my 400HPS light within 3"-4" from the tops without burning them(massive tops). I also had a healthy air flow through the grow cabinet and especially under the lights. I used one of those white wardrobe cabinets they sell everywhere, about 6' tall, 4' wide and 2' deep.They're cheap! It's much cheaper to build your own from the pet and hardware store. The only specialty item is a good light. But you can use outdoor HPS lights in a pinch. A 250HPS can still grow a nice personal garden! Don't forget $10 40W times two fluorescent shop lights with cool white bulbs. They're my favorite for seedlings, cuttings and veg growing up to about a foot tall. I don't grow anymore(wish I could) but I have a 15yr old kid and I have to put my hobbies on hold for a few more years. Oh' another hint is to check with your local hydro store and see if they have any used lights for sale. Some people use their old lights to trade up with at the stores. That's how I got my 400HPS sealed and vented hood plus ballast for $120. It's still hidding in my garage waiting for the day...

build your own light, go to an electrical supply store, they sell the HID kits for about 70 bucks.

to tell you the truth, i recommend premade systems.......

i preffer out door growing seeing as spring is around the corner just invest ur money in some chronic seed s and the grow em out doors get em out early, but grow enough plants in several different locations to last you smoke for the year i only have 2 plants per location just cause if i get caught with 2 plants opposed to 10 plants i get a slap on the wrist....
