my friends friend has some lipa yai that just starting pinning. the caps on his pins have been opening very early and they do not appear to have a veil. has anyone else grown lipa yai and does this sound normal? there are tons of pins, do these tend to mostly abort or grow to mature mushies? it would really help my friends friend out if anyone could give any feedback on this or any other information he may need to know about lipa yai. thanks

lost veils aren't all that uncommon in cubie strains.

will it be less potent if I wait for it to grow a little bit bigger because it does not have a veil?

This is the first Lipa Yai Casings I have run and cant believe how big these can get. The second pic is the shroom in the bottom left-hand area.

Insight, those are nice Monsters!

I've had poor luck with the Lipa Yai. Yours are really nice, good growing! :)

What type of substrate are those on?

Nice Lipa's Insight...

As far as the experience goes...Lipa Yai was a favorite
Could not sit still....speedy for sure....
but a refreshing change as far as Cubs go.
A unique and positive experience.

Good Work ;)

I wanted them to open more (for printing), however, they started falling down.
