Where ya at?

By Hip-Hop I mean: KRS-One, J-Dilla, MF Doom, Dilated Peoples, Procussions etc.

Not Soulja Boy, Jeezy, Lil Wayne, T.I. etc.

In other words, real music. Posted Image

Hah, one of my favorite KRS verses!!

"Cause they mind can't switch, from the ghetto, let go, it's not a novelty. You can love your neighborhood without loving poverty."

Wise Words!! I know I ain't the only one getting tired of hearing the same lyrics over and over..I for one would like to hear more emcees making music everyone can relate to. There are other things to rap about than what you have, or wish you had. Amen!!

I really like the words on "Hip-Hop" song by KRS-ONE and Marley Marl. They used to be mortal enemies and have battles. 20 years later KRS-ONE decided to make peace with all people he previously had a problem with.

Its part of his "stop the violence" movement. Forgive, apologize, move on and forge friendships with people who were your enemy.

Pretty cool stuff. I especially like his Hip Hop acronyms.

Yeah, stop the violence movement goes way back. From what I understand KRS-One has a serious disdain for ignorance

How bout Immortal Technique? In terms of socially and politically driven lyricism, he is the best. Anybody into that jazz outta check him out.

Heres a dope song about cocaine distribution from the fields to the streets

http://video.google....m=1&sa=N&tab=wv

Every hip-hop lover should check him out.
His 2 albums - Revolutionary Vol. 1 + 2 are amazing start to finish. Download that shit.

I come from Hip Hop yea ... Living now more in the Psychedelic Section of music, but the roots are still dirty and samplebased :)
Pete Rock, Marley Marl, Thes One from PUTS, Diamond D, Lord Finesse, ATCQ, Pharcyde, Souls of Mischief and so on .. This was my music back then and I'm still loving their style ...

Here you here the influences in some of my tracks (I hope its ok to post them)
