What's that big nasty black spot at the top of your cactus?

Lucky bastid, wish I had such diverse, healthful plants. I'm gonna try my hand at killing some salvia soon :D

good eye, hidra.
i'd bet that plant was started indoors and moved out
which triggered premie flowering, quite common.
kill it!

the short photoperiod of early spring can trigger flowering
in clones but generally not in seed-grown plants which have an internal timer
and know better than to flower so early. but clones are 'older' since they're cut off a mother and so can flower while still very small.

the trigger of fruit/bud formation in plants is also caused by environmental factors.........such as a change in seasons.........
