My god that it a nice garden there. I have never seen a graft stock like that before. My cactii look light green and sunburned. How often do you water them? I have waited for the soil to become bone dry, and then waited some more, and then i had root rot anyway:eusa_booh

thanks mycobri, it sounds like you need a better soil mix.
i find that the pre-made cacti and succulent mix at walmart
or wherever works just fine for pereskiopsis grafts.

Thanks JT. i thought it might be my soil. i have nothing to graft, however i did have some astrophytum and peruvians that i recently lost. Mostly, i do not want to lose a twenty year old ariocarpus fiss. "sunami" rescued from a texas construction site.

i read that it is good to use a mixture of dishsoap, rubbing alcohol & water to keep away dust mites and mealy bugs. any suggestions? also i might try a layer of charcoal at the bottom of each pot.

mealybugs can be treated directly by dabbing with alcohol
there's also some great chem sprays, but they're not suggested for food (or the cacti which I'm sure you'd never eat, cuz that'd be illegal ;)

Thanks fester ... i would never eat my babies. Actually i gave all of them an alcohol/soap/h20 rubdown last night, re-potted in fresh soil, sterilized there area, and planted new seed. I really want a salvia plant.
